Time Line Therapy

“Time Line Therapy TM is a collection of techniques, which produce long-lasting transformation very quickly by allowing the client to work at the unconscious level to release the effects of past negative experiences -- in minutes rather than days, months or years.”

Dr. Tad James – Author  Time Line Therapy and the Basis of Personality

We are the sum total of our experiences.  In other words, we are burdened by our past. When we experience stress, anger or fear in our lives, it may be because  those emotions are tied to old memories  which are affecting us now.   The unconscious mind associates an action or person in the present with something that happened in the past. When this occurs, these old emotions are activated and stress is produced.

Through Time Line TherapyTM you quickly gain emotional control over your life.  You also gain an ability to deal with and heal negative emotions such as anger, sadness, fear and guilt.  Time Line TherapyTM also can release Limiting decisions (I’m not good enough.”) that impose barriers to  attaining your goals.

Time Line TherapyTM  was first introduced in 1988 by Tad James in his best selling book, Time Line Therapy and the Basis of Personality.  Since then it  has become a major therapeutic intervention all over the world.

Time Line Therapy TM Techniques are different from traditional intervention techniques in that they work at the unconscious level, eliminating the need for the client to have a conscious memory of the underlying events that lead up to the present problem.

Our time line is where our unconscious mind stores all of our memories. It is because of your time line that you know the difference between a memory from the past and a projection of the future. In our time line we store everything that has ever happened to us in the past and what we are expecting is going to happen in the future. We know the difference between something that happened last week and something that happened in our childhood. We don’t have to think about it. This is possible because our unconscious mind has not only stored everything that has ever happened to us in a timeline but it has also “time/date stamped” the memory. What most people don’t realize is how much information is stored within these memories. The most important things that are stored with these events are what we felt at the time and what we made the event mean.

You may be surprised to learn that segments of our memory such as “the past” are perceived by each of us to be in a particular location – such as to our left or right or behind or in front. And, even more surprising is the fact that our unconscious mind knows exactly where that location is.

Old memories or experiences, even if we do not have conscious recall of them,  influence our reaction to events in our life today, and affect our response, often in ways that prevent us from living our lives fully and taking advantage of opportunities. Most individuals would experience life in a very different way if they were able  to let go of all the anger, fear, sadness or guilt from their past.

Time Line TherapyTM techniques do not suddenly give us amnesia regarding past events but, instead, remove the “charge” from the event, while helping us preserve the learning's that the event provided. The event becomes merely an “event” rather than a “catastrophic event”. This intervention may take only minutes but yet bring changes that will last a lifetime.
